I guess you have to copy everything that is in the UPDATE folder (4 files), then run the bat file. You dont have to extract the rars. The bat will do everything. Afterwards just remember to also copy the crack

I ran the update and after apply patches it asks if there where any errors Y/N. I had no errors so I enter N, resulted in “ACCESS DENIED” repeatedly. Although it did say the update was successful, it clearly was not. I have the blurry issue, which this update says they fixed. It’s still blurry.
Not sure why the second part of the update got me ACCESS DENIED.

I noticed a significant improvement in game performance, after this update … but still crashing randomly…

There is an SSE compatibilty by VOKSI.
He made a universal crack.
I downloaded this update and nothing changed in the game. Im using a GTX 1070 and getting FPS 60 only.

The update really helped on stability of FPS, still see slight stuttering but much improved. In terms of optimization its still quite rubbish. I’m on medium at 1080p with a i56500 and msi rx470 both stock and only getting around 40-60 fps. other than that a very good update hopefully 1.03 is even better.
How to install, make sure you have 1.01 installed from codex, then copy the WHOLE update folder into the game directory and then double click the bat file and follow the instructions. Then remember to copy the crack after into the game directory and play the game!
For everyone with missing savegame, these steps worked for me:
1. close the game
1. open %LocalAppData%\2K Games\Mafia III\Data
there 2 folders with 17 digits (maybe random)
2. rename the folder with the most recent “last changed”-timestamp (I’ve added “_old” to this)
3. rename the other folder to the name of the most recent folder (without “_old” ;-) )

They will not support any AMD processor below the Phenom 1100T. They are currently working on a patch for that cpu to include the SSE4.0a feature of that chip. I personally just spent $230 on a 9590 8 core black edition just to play this game, crossing my fingers it was worth it!
